The Blessing Bag Project

Feeding the homeless spiritually and physically, one Bible and Bag at a time. Whatever we do for one of the least of these, we did for him.
The History
The Blessing Bag Project began in 2018. It was created by single mother and her children with a heart to care for the poor. The Blessing Bag Project consists of picking up, arranging, and organizing donations from the community. These donations are gathered into blessing bags and given in ministry to the homeless. Blessing bags consist of basic toiletries, a canned meal, a Bible, and other necessities depending on the season. Danielle Denk and a faithful team of volunteers now serve 100-150 people who are in need per month.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14 – English Standard Version
The Vision
We anticipate that through this project many will find hope, and God’s Spirit will lead them from poverty and devastation to the “Narrow gate” of which Jesus spoke. There are some who have no aspiration to get off the streets. We we have no power in ourselves to change the heart and mind of those who choose to continue to persist in hardship. It is our strong resolve to love them where they are. We are committed to sharing the Gospel with the poor. We choose to always preach the gospel with words and works and serve others as though we were serving Christ himself.

I love what I do because I have been there. I’ve been homeless, I’ve been without. More importantly, I do what I do because God told me to! He commands us all to take care of the poor, sick, and those in prison. Jesus sat with the lowly. He loved them. He helped them. That’s exactly what I want to do, be like Jesus! No person is too old or too young to serve the less fortunate. We all have a place in ministry! You can pray for us, financially contribute, contribute items needed, or join us onsite! It is my honor to show others how to get involved and inspire them to be the body of Christ.
